Meet Our Team
Before you come in and see us, we'd like you to get to know a little bit about each of our staff members. Each person on our team loves what they do and every person plays a special role in the success of our company. Remember - we're here for you! Whether you visit us as a consignor or a buyer, we want you to feel at home at Riverbridge Resale and Consignment.
In 2004, Kay and Danny George opened their doors. With their passion for serving others as a driving force, and Kay's interest in home decorating as well as a desire to provide a refreshing alternative to conventional resale methods - Riverbridge Resale and Consignment was born!
Like you, Kay likes to redecorate her home to keep things fresh and exciting. Often times, our surroundings get stale and boring, not because of a lack of desire for change, but rather the difficulty of finding affordable home furnishings and selling our existing items.
Kay and Danny saw that many of the Houston area home associations did not allow garage sales in their neighborhoods and was keenly aware that classified advertising tends to be frustrating and time consuming. They saw a great need for a resale and consignment shop and put their passions to work for their community. Even though Danny has a full time job elsewhere, Riverbridge benefits from his many skills.
Peggy Knapp - Pricing
Pricing Peggy, as she's called, is the employee who has been at Riverbridge the longest. Since September of 2005, Peggy has been carefully pricing the smaller pieces and accessories that accent the beautiful display of furnishings at Riverbridge.
Peggy is originally from the east, where she taught nursing for 45 years. After moving to Montgomery, she decided to pursue an interest in consignment and joined Kay at Riverbridge. She enjoys her friendly work environment and likes interacting with the many consignors.
Peggy spends much of her free time browsing antiques and collectibles, gardening, cooking and reading. She is married and enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She and her husband are also actively involved in many community groups in April Sound where they live.
ELIZABETH YATES - WEBSITE EDITOR
C'est bon mes ami! (It's good my friend.) Can you tell Elizabeth moved to Conroe from the bayous of south Louisiana? She is a retired school teacher with 33 years of experience and a love of learning.
It is hard to believe, but we have another consignor/customer turned employee. Elizabeth found herself drawn to the ever-changing decor and the family-like atmosphere at Riverbridge. Used to being active and involved, she thought why not learn something new? She works part time keeping the website current with pictures of featured items, price updates, and current news.
Elizabeth and her husband have been married almost 40 years. Their son and daughter and 5 grandchildren live in the Houston area. She treasures the time spent with her family including their 4 dogs.
Elizabeth says, " I love hearing people say that they've found just the right item at Riverbridge to add to their home."
CINDY MERRYMAN - SALES ASSOCIATE
Cindy is a long time resident of Conroe. She is married with 2 children, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Cindy has a love for anything dealing with the outdoors, especially water activities. She says just color her "blue" for the water. She is very proud of her 150 gallon salt water aquarium.
We are delighted to have Cindy's enthusiasm here at Riverbridge. She knows so many people in this area, and her bubbly personality is contagious. Try to get a glimpse of her when you visit our store. She is always on the move helping out where needed.
Cindy visited our store on many occasions and jumped at the chance to join our sales staff in the summer of 2007. She says that she LOVES everything about her job, especially the wonderful people with which she works.
BECKY LYNCH - SALES ASSOCIATE
Becky is our newest employee, but certainly not new to the resale business. Becky is a native Houstonian who moved to the Conroe area in 1996 where she operated her own resale business for six years. Becky has had a love for antiquing from an early age, nurtured by her grandfather who owned an antique shop in Houston. At times, he would take Becky along with him to auctions.
Working at Riverbridge Resale is "the perfect job", according to Becky. How many people get to work at what they love, with a great staff of co-workers, a wonderful employer, and a productive work environment???
Becky has been married eighteen years to Lonnie Lynch. She is a mother to three sons and two stepdaughters and their three children. Becky has enjoyed a diversity of hobbies from water sports such as scuba diving and skiing to fine art and crafting. Of course, let's not forget her favorite hobby of antiquing.
